Restoration Deep Healing Therapeutic Massage

Release & Neuromuscular Therapy. We design each massage session to meet
your specific needs. The massage can be anything from very relaxing,
sedative and pampering, to deeply therapeutic...focusing on problems
associated with chronic muscle tension, spasms and those stubborn knots.

Massage Modalities Explained

Swedish Massage
The main goal of Swedish Massage is relaxation. Through a routine of smooth, gliding strokes, kneading the muscles
of the body and gentle stretching, circulation of blood is enhanced and relaxation is achieved. From head to toe,
every system of the body is affected by Swedish  Massage techniques. Its general applications are what most
people expect when going for a common relaxation massage.

One of the most commonly taught and well-known massage techniques, Swedish massage is a vigorous system of
treatment designed to energize the body by stimulating circulation. Five basic strokes, all flowing toward the heart,
are used to manipulate the soft tissues of the body. The disrobed client is covered by a sheet, with only the area being
worked on exposed. Therapists use a combination of kneading, rolling, vibrational, percussive and tapping movements,
with the application of oil, to reduce friction on the skin. The many benefits of Swedish massage may include
generalized relaxation, dissolution of scar tissue adhesions and improved circulation, which may speed healing
and reduce swelling from injury.


Deep Tissue Massage
Is a style of massage that uses slow strokes and deep finger pressure on contracted areas, either following or going
across the grain of muscles, tendons and fascia. The name “deep tissue” is used to describe the intention of the work,
that is, to focus on the deeper layers of muscle tissue and not meaning how light or firm the pressure may be.

Techniques that utilize deep tissue/deep muscle massage are administered to affect the sub-layer of musculature
and fascia. These techniques require more advanced training and a more thorough understanding of anatomy and
physiology. The muscles must be relaxed in order to effectively perform deep tissue massage, otherwise tight surface
muscles prevent the practitioner from reaching deeper musculature. It helps with chronic muscular pain and injury
rehabilitation, and reduces inflammation-related pain caused by arthritis and tendinitis. It is generally integrated
with other massage techniques.



























Myofascial Release
Techniques are a form of bodywork that is manipulative in nature and seeks to re-balance the body. Long and
somewhat deep strokes are used to stretch the muscles and connective tissues surrounding the muscles.
This technique can be incorporated in a general massage session, but typically it is used to address
specific problems the client may be having.


Trigger Point Therapy
In a very specific way, Trigger Point Therapy (also known as Neuromuscular Therapy) seeks to address
the areas of contracted tissue most people think of a “knots." A trigger point is an area of muscle that
is very sensitive to touch and can give a sensation of referred pain (irritation that may be some
distance from the given point of pain).

Trigger points can arise from chronic tension, as well as acute injury or spasms. By using concentrated
finger pressure, the therapist seeks to break up the trigger points and eliminate the cycles
of spasm and pain.

Prenatal & Postnatal Massage – This gentle style of massage focuses on reducing the stress, and
anxieties associated with pregnancy. The mother to be is positioned safely and comfortably on
the table using pillows to accommodate the growing fetus when lying on the stomach is
uncomfortable. Postpartum massage can help the body restore itself to its pre-pregnancy
condition and help release milk flow which may be held back due to the stresses of taking
care of a new-born baby.

Raindrop Therapy
Raindrop Therapy combines aromatherapy with the techniques of Vita Flex, reflexology, massage, etc.,
in the application of essential oils, which are applied on various areas of the body.

The technique as "a wonderfully, powerful tool for addressing the central nervous system, our most important '
central command' for our bodies. Pure, quality essential oils are used to address those pathogenic organisms that
hibernate along our spinal cords and in our lymphatic system," she says. "Our bodies have the ability to hang on to
these organisms, causing myriad health-related issues (i.e: colds, fatigue, suppressed immune function, to name
a few). When our bodies are unbalanced in any way, these organisms/bacteria can be released and manifest
as disease and illness.


Bamboo Fusion
Bamboo massage is a technique that incorporates bamboo stalks of varying lengths and diameters to provide
deep-tissue work. (The Japanese name for bamboo is take, while the Chinese call it chu. It is from this word that
the chop sticks, used by some bamboo massage practitioners, take their name.) Some practitioners combine
elements of shiatsu, traditional Chinese medicine (where bamboo cups or the ends of the stalks are used in
specific ways), Thai massage, lymphatic drainage, and even Ayurveda into the technique, and sticks are sometimes
heated or essential oils are incorporated into the massage. The massage itself promotes circulation, sensory nerve
perception, and lymphatic drainage and provides a deep sense of relaxation and well-being. An added benefit for
the practitioner is that using the bamboo sticks helps to reduce stress and strain on hands and fingers while
still allowing for deeply penetrating maneuvers.
